Will be spending the holiday with my sister Betty and her husband in Victoria and Mary Claire from Calgary will join us. Mona, our niece lives in Victoria, also, so she will be with us off and on. Wanted to write about the Forum on Fitzroy Street coming down and tell you about the Notre Dame Choir - which I was in - singing with Gracie Fields there. It was in the spring of 1950, I think. Altho' I didn't grow up to be much of a hockey fan, I still can remember the excitment when Howard Glover, Orin Carver, Keith Dalziel [and was there someone else?]were on the ice. And by the way, you remember that Benjamin West painting that Don Stewart wanted to buy at Phillips in New York. It was estimated to sell at $180.00 -$200.000. It sold for $2.6 million. How is that for an estimate? Love to all. I'll be in contact in the New Year, unless I learn to use those public computers here or there. Written Wednesday, December 13, 2000 at 12:12 AM |
